Throughout the workshop, participants will engage in hands-on activities and discussions aimed at promoting effective writing instruction for English learners. They will explore methods for scaffolding writing tasks to support students at different proficiency levels, including pre-writing activities, vocabulary development, and sentence structure support. Participants will be able to effectively engage English learners in writing lessons with grade level content regardless of their English proficiency.
We will present ELL strategies that can be implemented into core instruction. These strategies will include hands-on activities, digital resources, and direct-instruction models. These strategies will equip teachers to make content more accessible for English language learners. Participants will learn applicable ELL instructional practices that they can immediately implement in their classrooms.
